Orford

Orford is 15 minutes up the road from Buckland. It’s a seaside holiday town on the mouth of the Prosser river. Its permanent population is around 500, but in summer that swells to around 3,000 people. Orford is a perfect spot to stop for a coffee or stay for a night or two. There are several nice walks in and around town and  many beaches in the area are suitable for swimming, surfing, fishing or other water activities. Kayaking on the Prosser river is safe, as the flow is very minimal. There is an IGA and four eateries as well as a vineyard with cellar door sales in the town. The Newsagent is also a Post Office.
