Sorell, is the first main town that you will meet after passing through the suberberbs of Rosney Park, Mornington and Cambridge. You will pass the Tasmania Golf Club and travel over the causway on the A3 Tasman Highway.
When travelling from South to North, Sorell is the last major town before getting to St. Helens. So if you need to stock up on fresh food or camping gear, this is the place to do it. Sorell was first settled in 1808, as a farming community and in 1821 the town of Sorell was established which grew into an important township on the supply route from Hobart to Port Arthur, on the Tasman peninsula.
There is a fruit farm, where you can pick your own fruit and some vineyards and distilleries in the vicinity of Sorell have cellar door sales. In Sorell, turn left (north) at the only traffic lights in town. This will get you onto the Tasman Highway (A3) which goes all the way to St. Helens.
